High-tech counterfeiting still rising, according Priceminister

A decrease in the number of counterfeiters. It is what the platform Priceminister in his third record, 2010 fight against counterfeiting, made from observations of its dedicated cells in France, the United Kingdom and Spain. The website of purchase and sale of used goods - which claims 98% of fake products stopped before online - highlights have blocked last year 1503 accounts, in 2009 against 2625.

Apple products are the most copied
While the bulk of counterfeits detected for the fashion sector (clothing, leather goods, watches, perfumes, cosmetics), the high-tech weighs 34%, 17% growth. Priceminister note a sharp increase of 47% of the sector "her" (Walkman, accessories) and the first touch pads, as the iPad (4% of attempts). Telephony represents the largest share of fakes, especially smartphones, as evidenced by increases of counterfeit products HTC and BlackBerry. Apple products are the most copied in all sectors.
Priceminister claims 35 people employed in the fight against fake products and have adopted measures such as awareness of buyers, the analysis of ads and behavior, the creation in 2006 of a warranty against infringement or the signing of an agreement with Customs a year ago.

Video games (consoles, games and accessories) are also a breeding ground, with a growth of 23% of the blocked accounts. According to the subsidiary of Rakuten, analysis of documents provided by vendors suspected of counterfeiting (when they agreed to issue) shows that they are sourcing 86% on Internet, and increasingly on Chinese websites.
